- The aim is to highlight the values that the company shares with the National team, such as teamwork, confidence, warmth and leadership
- The advertisement features players Busquets, Casillas, Llorente, Mata and Xavi, along with 180 extras
IBERDROLA has resumed the advertising campaign for television, radio, press and Internet, with a view to highlighting the values that the company shares with the Spanish National Football Team, of which it is the main sponsoring partner.
The creativity is based on the development and execution of a football move with hundreds of people in different places taking part at the same time, reinforcing IBERDROLA's commitment to teamwork. The TV advert depicts the football move as a chain reaction from one person to the next and ends with the final shot, which is taken by five players from the national team: Busquets, Casillas, Llorente, Mata and Xavi.
The wind and IBERDROLA's wind farms will feature throughout the spot as the element that gives the players the energy they need for the game.
This campaign was recorded over a four-day period, with the team travelling to various locations in the north of Spain, such as the Elga-Urkilla wind farm (Álava) and the Royal Spanish Football Federation's Ciudad del Fútbol (Football City) complex in Las Rozas (Madrid). In total, the team travelled 1,500 kilometres.
The IBERDROLA campaign, for which the advertising agency is Young & Rubicam, required 180 extras, as well as a technical team consisting of about 45 people. The recording included a helicopter, special effects, steadycam and 800fps Phantom and 300fps Epic cameras.
As regards the music, the spot includes a version of the song Let the river run, which the company has been using since 2003.
The first stage of the recording process was in late February in Madrid, when the five players were filmed on a chroma key background especially made for the occasion. Each of the player's moves were rehearsed in advance with five doubles and coordinated by a coach. The second stage took place one month later, in various locations in northern Spain and over a three-day period.
This new campaign highlights IBERDROLA's values and links them to its commitment to Spanish football, through the company's sponsorship of the Senior national team. The company has been supporting the national team since November 2009, when IBERDROLA became not only the main sponsoring partner of the Spanish National Football Team, but also the official sponsor of the Senior and U21 national teams.
By sponsoring this sport, IBERDROLA aims to reinforce its commitment to the values upheld by the national team: teamwork, confidence, warmth and leadership.
